PEEC NEWS
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center is very happy to report that it has set a reopening date for the Los Alamos Nature Center of Monday, April 12. There is a lot that goes into figuring out how to follow the state-mandated Covid-19 safe practices while still allowing for a fun and educational experience for visitors.
If all conditions stay the same as they are currently, the nature center will be open a limited number of days and hours: Sundays from 1 – 5 p.m., Mondays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 – 5 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Due to state prohibitions on interactive exhibits, visitors will see some changes in what PEEC is able to offer to visitors, but the animals will be happy to see visitors again!
PEEC will be allowing up to 10 visitors at a time inside the nature center, due to the limited movement space in the building. If the center experiences lots of demand, PEEC may have to institute timed ticketing, but for the time being plans to be open on a walk-in basis. PEEC looks forward to seeing you soon at the nature center!
The majority of PEEC’s talks and other events will continue to take place on Zoom for the time being. Plans are subject to change, so please visit peecnature.org for the most up-to-date information on visiting the nature center!

PEEC activities are open to everyone; however, members receive exclusive benefits such as discounts on programs and merchandise. Annual memberships start at $35.
