Rep. Christine Chandler Holds Online Town Hall ‘Protecting Our Elections’ With Secretary Of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver

(Los Alamos) – Representative Christine Chandler (HD43) will hold an online Town Hall at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, with Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver. They will also be joined by Representative Joy Garratt (HD29) to talk about the steps the state is taking to ensure the security of the upcoming election.

“This will be an election like no other,” said Rep. Chandler. “Secretary Toulouse Oliver has put in place many steps to protect our election process and ensure the security of this election. It’s important that voters know and understand these critical steps.”

The Town Hall will be broadcast LIVE on Representative Chandler’s Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/Christine4NM.

The Town Hall will discuss the steps that the state is taking to ensure the security of the upcoming election, to certify all votes are counted in a timely manner, and how the state is working with local county clerks to ease access to voting. Questions will be taken at the event.

Voters may request an absentee ballot now at NMVote.org. The first round of absentee ballots will begin being mailed out on October 6. In addition, voters may vote early in-person from October 17-31, or on election day. All polling locations and instructions can be found at NMVote.org.

Chandler will be on the November 3, 2020 General Election ballot. She was first elected in 2018 and must run every election cycle to keep her seat in the NM Legislature.
