A lane shift for traffic occurred the week of Aug. 3 and NM 502 is now partially re-opened to through traffic. There is one lane open in each direction from Tewa Lp to DP Rd. Access to local streets from Tewa Lp to Arroyo Ln will still be provided.

Access to Central Ave and 4th St from NM 502 will be closed for the next 7 weeks
for construction of the roundabout. Central Ave and 4th St can still be accessed via Knecht Street.

DP Rd (Work related to Canyon Walk Apts and The Bluffs) Qualcon Builders, LLC – 120 DP Road Utility Infrastructure Replacement
Portions of DP Road will be temporarily detoured or restricted to flagged/signaled to one-lane traffic starting the week of August 10th, for approximately an 8-week duration and tentative end date of October 12th. One-lane traffic restrictions will occur only during business hours from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. The portions of DP Rd affected are between the edge of the 6th Street intersection with DP Road east to Fire Station #2 (132 DP Rd). Contractor will be working in the right-of-way to replace existing utilities with upgraded services related to the new Canyon Walk Apartments (under construction) and The Bluffs senior housing (soon to be constructed). Milling and paving operations followed by a detour shift to the north side of DP Rd can be expected with either electronic flagging or one-way access with flagger in place during the two month project. Parcel A-8-b Trench Work – south of Canyon Walk Apts
For the next two weeks, N3B contractors are excavating a utility trench within the A-8-b land parcel that will be used to place utilities along DP Rd to support the two housing projects. No traffic impacts directly affecting DP Rd but motorists should watch for trucks and other construction traffic entering and exiting the parcel on the south side of DP Rd throughout the work day Monday through Friday, as this area will become congested now that the larger DP project described above is getting underway, along with the changes to through traffic on Trinity Drive because of the NM502 Roundabout Construction.

Vehicles and pedestrian traffic are urged to follow all traffic control devices and maintain a safe distance from the work zones listed above.
