2017 LAHS Alumnus Jennifer Necker Receives 2020-21 Jean Boswell PEO State Scholarship

Jennifer Necker, a 2017 Los Alamos High School graduate, is the recipient of a merit-based 2020-21 Jean Boswell P.E.O. state scholarship for college  junior and senior women.

In a statewide, exceptionally competitive field, the selection committee in its notification letter wrote that Necker is an “extraordinary candidate.”

Necker is slated to begin her senior year at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, in the fall, where she is majoring in Marine Chemistry.

She maintains a 3.95 grade point average and plans to pursue a PhD in this discipline following her graduation.

Necker is the daughter of Julie Bremser and Carl Necker of White Rock.

PEO is a philanthropic educational organization, founded in 1869,  dedicated to furthering education for women  through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College. There are 68 P.E.O. chapters in New Mexico.
