The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) has launched a new online series to help the community get outside, have fun and continue to learn about nature while the schools and Los Alamos Nature Center are closed. Take It Outside with PEEC!

Each week, PEEC’s staff and volunteers will focus on a different nature-related theme. They will provide daily activities and challenges to help people of all ages have fun and learn new things about our natural environment. Adults and children alike can take part in these challenges and contests, and share their experiences with the community.

The Take It Outside program launched on Monday, March 16 and the theme for week one is birds. The first challenge focused on learning about the common birds of Los Alamos and going on a birding walk. Learn more and view the daily challenges at peecnature.org/take-it-outside. New challenges will be posted on weekdays by 10 a.m. for the duration of the school and County facility closures. More than one challenge can be completed per day, if you need to catch up on the program!
