2020 RCLC Retreat And Strategic Planning Workshop Slated For Saturday

retreat invite

Regional Coalition of LANL Communities executive issued an invitation to the Feb, 8 RCLC retreat to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Feb 8 at the Rio Arriba County Annex in Espanola.

Vasquez said the RCLC board, community partners and members of the public will meet to develop and establish mission objectives and strategic action goals for 2020 and beyond.

“Our specific focus will be examining legacy waste cleanup issues at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the economic impact of the Lab on our region and where our collective communities should focus their efforts,” Vasquez said. “Members of the public are invited to attend and participate in this discussion as we review what objectives our communities wish to collectively.”

At the Jan. 24 RCLC board meeting, Vasquez told board members the retreat would be divided into two sections. First, he said, there will be a review of legacy waste cleanup issues. Second, he said, the RCLC “in collaboration with community activists selected to do a more in depth analysis of economic development and economic impact of LANL to our region.”

The Los Alamos Reporter reached out to Vasquez Jan. 25 for the names of speakers and facilitators for the retreat but did not receive a response.

The Rio Arriba County Annex is located at 1122 Industrial Park Road. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. RSVP to regionalcoalitionNM@gmail.com
