The Northern NM chapter of the Society of Catholic Scientists is pleased to announce a Gold Mass in honor of scientists at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos.
The homilist at the mass will be Deacon Ray Alcouffe, retired LANL scientist and Fellow of the American Nuclear Society. Nov. 15 is the memorial of St. Albert the Great, who is the patron saint of scientists. Gold Masses bring together members of the scientific professions, but all are invited to attend.
Following Mass, there will be a reception with dinner provided. Chad Meyer, O.P., LANL scientist and lay Dominican will present a talk on St. Albert the Great and the rich history of Catholic scientists.
