Cimarron River: Stream flow near Cimarron on Monday morning was 28.6 cfs. Fishing was fair using salmon eggs, Pistol Petes, spinners and PowerBait for trout. Fishing at the Gravel Pit Lakes was good using PowerBait, worms and Pistol Petes for trout.
Clayton Lake: As the weather gets warmer the fishing walleye and trout is starting to slow down. Primarily when the weather is cooler mornings/evenings/cloudy fishing is still reported as good using nightcrawlers and PowerBait for trout. In the evening pink and green spinners and spoons were also working for trout. A few largemouth bass were caught by anglers using nightcrawlers and crank baits. A few walleye were caught fishing in the evenings with chartreuse curly tail grubs. Catfishing was fair using chicken liver. The boat ramp is closed due to low water levels.
Conchas Lake: Fishing was very good using worms for bluegill. Fishing was good using top water lures, swim baits, jerk baits, senkos, jigs, tubes and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was good using crank baits, jerk baits, sassy shad and top water lures for white bass. Fishing was good using bottom bouncer spinner/worm rigs and minnow rigs for walleye. Jig head with curly tail grub and minnow/worm combinations are also working well for walleye. Fishing was fair using cut bait, worms and liver for catfish. The surface water temp was in the low to mid 70s.
Costilla Creek: Stream flow near Costilla on Monday was 100 cfs. Fishing is good with stimulator dry flies and bead head nymphs.
Cowles Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Coyote Creek: Fishing was very good using salmon eggs and worms for trout. A few trout were also caught by anglers using elk hair caddis.
Eagle Nest Lake: Fishing was good using Platte River Specials and PowerBait for rainbow trout. Fishin was fair using spinners and worms for perch. Fishing was slow for northern pike and kokanee salmon.
Eagle Rock Lake: Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, spinners, worms, PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout.
Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Gallinas River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Hopewell Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, worms, Fire Balls, wooly buggers and Pistol Petes for rainbow trout.
Lake Alice: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Maloya: Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, spoons, spinners and PowerBait for trout.
Los Pinos River: Reports are that the water level is still a bit higher than optimal for good fishing.
Maxwell Lake 13: Fishing was slow for all species.
Monastery Lake: Fishing was good using yellow PowerBait, dry flies and grasshoppers for trout.
Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 156 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using yellow PowerBait, worms, salmon eggs, wooly buggers, leach patterns and bead head hares ears for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout. On June 25 David Shelle caught a 28-inch rainbow using a salmon egg hook with worm.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 148 cfs. Fishing was fair using large spinners and streamers for trout.
Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge was 3,400 cfs. Fishing was slow for all species.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Valdez was 103 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Mora: Stream flow on Monday morning was 35.2 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Penasco was 67.9 cfs. Fishing is good near Sipapu. Dry droppers with copper johns and red San Juan worms have been working.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing was good using Super Dupers, spinners, spoons, Pistol Petes under a bubble, PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout.
Shuree Ponds: Closed for the season.
Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Storrie Lake: Fishing for trout was good. Donna Barrera of Portales, caught her limit of trout at Storrie Lake using a pink rooster tail.
Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Ute Lake: Fishing was very good using worms for big bluegill. Fishing was very good using plastic crawdads, tubes, senkos (rigged wacky) and grubs in 5- to 10-feet of water for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Good plastic bass bait colors have been natural, green, pumpkin and watermelon. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits for white bass that are scattered around the lake. Fishing was fair using jigs, grubs and minnows in the trees for walleye. Fishing for catfish was fair. The surface water temp was in the low to mid 70s.
Northwest Fishing Report
Abiquiu Lake: Fishing has been slow and inconsistent probably due to the fluctuating lake water level. Some people are having little success catching walleye, bass, and crappie using bright color jigs, worms, gulp minnows and curly tail grubs. We had no reports on other species. Anglers are advised to use four-wheel drive vehicles to launch boats and watch for obstructions on the water.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 6,060 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: Bass fishing was fair using plastic creature baits and senkos.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing was very good for tiger muskie using square bill crank baits and spinner baits. Catfishing has been good at night for anglers using chicken liver, nightcrawlers and hotdogs.
Brazos River: Fishing was good using small bead head nymphs and worms for trout.
Canjilon Lakes: Fishing was fair to good using spinners, Pistol Petes and PowerBait for trout.
Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 824 cfs and 1,460 cfs respectively. Fishing below El Vado was fair to good using night crawlers, streamers, wooly buggers and salamander pattern Panther Martins for brown and rainbow trout. We had no reports from below Abiquiu.
Cochiti Lake: Fishing was slow, but anglers using minnows, jigs, crank baits and spinner baits caught a few largemouth bass and white bass. Fishing was slow to fair using beef liver, homemade dough baits, worms and cut bait for catfish. We had no reports on other species.
El Vado Lake: Fishing was very good using crankbaits for bass. We had no reports on other species.
Fenton Lake: Fishing was good using spoons, Pistol Petes, nightcrawlers, PowerBait and a variety of flies for trout.
Heron Lake: Fishing was slow for all species with just a few carp and rainbow trout caught by anglers using worms and PowerBait.
Jackson Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez River, near the town of Jemez, on Monday morning was 16.1 cfs. Fishing on the upper Jemez and San Antonio was very good using bright green hoppers and large tan caddis flies for brown and rainbow trout. The Cebolla above and below Fenton is fishing well. Below the dam copperjohns and worms are working good for brown trout. Later in day they will hit on dry flies, especially hopper patterns. Mosquitos are abundant and anglers should bring bug spray.
Laguna del Campo: Fishing was good using spoons, Pistol Petes, PowerBait and worms for trout.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
McGaffey Lake: Trout fishing has slowed down since the last stocking, but powerboat, worms and spinners have been catching a few trout.
Navajo Lake: Fishing was slow for crappie. Fishing was slow to fair using 3- to 4-inch senkos, top water poppers, baby brush hogs, crank baits, curly tail grubs and jigs for smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and Pike. A few rainbow and brown trout were caught by anglers trolling crank baits. Fishing for Kokanee salmon was slow and they are reported to be 60- to 80-feet deep. We had no reports on other species.
San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
San Juan River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 609 cfs. Trout fishing in shallower runs from Texas hole up stream towards the damn is fishing good with size 22-26 midges, anilids, crystal flash and crème larvae. Fishing below Texas hole in the deeper runs fishing is fair using san juan worms, leach patterns and egg patterns. Fishing the bait waters was fair to good using night crawlers, spinners and Gulp eggs.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, a wide assortment of small flies, leach patterns, woolly buggers and Pistol Petes for trout.
Tingley Beach: Fishing at the Central and Youth ponds was fair using worms for bluegill. Fishing was slow to fair using hot dogs and homemade dough bait for catfish. We had no other reports.
Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bear Canyon Lake: Fishing for crappie has been good for people using small jigs and flies fishing from a flyrod. Catfishing has been good using worms and chicken liver.
Bill Evans Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
Caballo Lake: Fishing was fair to good using minnows for crappie. Fishing was good using crank baits that dive 8- to 12-feet, grubs and sassy shad for white bass, walleye and crappie. There were no reports on other species.
Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was fair and getting better using top water lures, minnows, crank baits and tubes for white bass. White bass fishing is starting to pick up. Fishing was slow to fair using chatter baits, crank baits, creature baits, jigs, top water lures, senkos and jerk baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing for walleye and crappie was fair to good using crank baits that dive 12- to 14-feet deep, sassy shad, and curly tail grubs. Fishing was good using cut bait, worms and chicken liver for catfish primarily on the north end of the lake.
Escondida Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Gila River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 25.8 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
