Cimarron River: Stream flow near Cimarron on Monday morning was 50.9 cfs. Fishing was good using red San Juan worms, small copper John Barrs, small pheasant tail nymphs and Panther Martin spinners for trout. Fishing at the Gravel Pit Lakes was good using PowerBait and Pistol Petes for trout.
Clayton Lake: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, spinners, spoons and worms for trout up to 19 inches. Fishing was fair using swim baits and tubes for largemouth bass. We had no reports on other species.
Conchas Lake: Fishing was good using crank baits, chatter baits, jerk baits, Ned rigs, tubes, senkos, jigs and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using minnows, small jigs and curly tail grubs for crappie. Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, sassy shad and minnows for white bass. Fishing was fair trolling minnow and worm rigs and crank baits for walleye. Fishing was good using cut bait, homemade dough bait and liver for catfish. The surface water temp ranged from the mid to high 60s.
Costilla Creek: Stream flow near Costilla on Monday was 110 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Cowles Ponds: Fishing was good using PowerBait, worms and Pistol Petes for trout.
Coyote Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Eagle Nest Lake: Fishing was good using spinners, Kastmasters, worms and PowerBait for rainbow trout. Anglers fishing for trout picked up a few Kokanee salmon. Fishing for northern pike was fair using PowerBait, large streamers and Kastmasters. Fishing was fair using worms for perch.
Eagle Rock Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Gallinas River: Fishing was good using worms and Fire Balls for trout.
Hopewell Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait for 15 to 17-inch trout.

Monastery Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls, Power Eggs, worms and Pistol Petes for trout.
Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 432 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using worms, wooly buggers, bead head prince nymphs and bead head hares ears for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout. Justin Kersting of Albuquerque caught a 19-inch rainbow near Windy Bridge. He was using a wooly bugger.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 165 cfs. Fishing was fair using worms and spinners for trout.
Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge was 1,890 cfs. Fishing was slow for all species. There were a few catfish caught by anglers fishing in the Albuquerque area and using chicken liver.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday morning was 77 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Mora: Stream flow on Monday morning was 137 cfs. Fishing was fair using worms for trout.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Penasco was 158 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing was good from the bank and from boats for anglers using jigs, Pistol Petes, spoons, worms, Fire Balls and PowerBait for trout.
Shuree Ponds: Closed for the season.
Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Storrie Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait and worms for trout. Anglers using worms also caught a few catfish. Lisa Roybal and a friend caught seven trout while trolling a Christmas tree/worm combination.
Stubblefield Lake: Fishing was fair using swim baits and jointed Rapalas for a mixed bag of walleye and largemouth bass. Hue Gonzales of Angel Fire reported a good day fishing with his father, Andrew this past week. They landed three nice walleye and two largemouth bass within an hour.
Ute Lake: Fishing was good using square bill crank baits, chatter bait, jerk baits, swim baits and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was good using minnows, curly tail grubs and small jigs for crappie. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits for walleye and good trolling crank baits for white bass. Fishing was good using hot dogs, homemade dough bait, liver, night crawlers and dip bait for catfish in shallow water. The surface temp was in the mid 60s.

Abiquiu Lake: Fishing was fair using jigs, tubes and swim baits for smallmouth bass. We had no reports on other species.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 1,600 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing was slow with just a few tiger muskie and catfish caught by anglers using swim baits, deep running crank baits and hotdogs.
Brazos River: Fishing was fair to good using worms and small bead head nymphs for trout.
Canjilon Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 816 cfs and 1,770 cfs respectively. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Cochiti Lake: Fishing was fair to good using liver for carp. We had no reports on other species.
El Vado Lake: Fishing was fair using tubes and grubs for largemouth bass. Fishing for all other species was slow with just two brown trout caught by anglers using inflated night crawlers.
Fenton Lake: Fishing was good for anglers using wooly buggers, Fisher Chick spinners, Pistol Petes, Kastmasters and PowerBait for trout.
Heron Lake: Fishing from the bank was fair using PowerBait, corn, marshmallows, Fire Balls and worms for rainbow trout. Fishing was slow for lake trout and kokanee, but few were caught. Jigs tipped with cut bait worked for the lake trout and the kokanee were caught by an angler trolling Panther Martins in about 45-feet of water.
Jackson Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez near the town of Jemez on Monday morning was 173 cfs and fishing was slow with just a few trout caught by anglers using fake worms and earth worms. Fishing on the Cebolla, East Fork and San Antonio was good using hoppers, hares ears, egg patterns, copper John Barrs and worms for trout. Matthew Cleary reported great fishing on the San Antonio. He caught and released several brown trout while using a green flashback hares and a peach egg as a dropper.
Laguna del Campo: Fishing was very good using Pistol Petes, PowerBait and worms for trout.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: Fishing was slow for all species.
Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
McGaffey Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Navajo Lake: Fishing was fair to good using minnows, small grubs and small tubes for crappie. Fishing was fair using swim baits, jerk baits, crank baits, spinner baits, curly tail grubs and jigs for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using crank baits, jerk baits, spinner baits and swim baits for northern pike. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits and spinners for trout. We had no reports on other species.
San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
San Juan River: Stream flow on Monday morning was at 408 cfs and still a bit murky. Flows may start ramping up the first week in June. Fishing through the Quality Water section was fair to good using black and olive bunny leeches, flash back pheasant tails, jigs, San Juan worms, Big Macs, Tav Macs and bright egg patterns. Trout fishing through the bait waters was good using jigs, Kastmasters, night crawlers and PowerBait.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing was very good using worms, wooly buggers, leeches and spinners for trout.
Tingley Beach: Fishing at the Central and Youth ponds were very good using hot dogs, homemade dough bait and liver for catfish. Austin Miles was using hot dogs and caught and released a largemouth bass. Fishing at the Bob Gerding Catch and Release Pond was good using hoppers, CDC emergers, baetis nymphs and chamois leeches for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Caballo Lake: Fishing was fair using curly tail grubs, minnows and jigs for crappie. Fishing was fair using minnows, crank baits and grubs for walleye. Fishing was slow to fair using jig and craw combos, crank baits and tubes for largemouth bass. Fishing was good using liver, homemade dough bait, night crawlers and cut bait for catfish. The best catfish reports have come from the north end of the lake.
Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was good using minnows, sassy shad, crank baits, curly tail grubs, and tubes for a mixed bag of crappie, walleye and white bass. Fishing was fair to good using chatter baits, crank baits, spinner baits, tubes, senkos, creature baits and swim baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing was good using cut bait, chicken liver, homemade dough bait, night crawlers and hot dogs for catfish.
Escondida Lake: Fishing was very good using hot dogs, chicken liver, worms and homemade dough bait for catfish.

The 8th Annual Aldo Leopold Kids Fishing Derby will be held June 1 and will run from 7:00 a.m. to noon. There will be some huge Gila trout stocked for the event.
