Los Alamos High School will host Sophomore Parent Night on Monday, April 8 beginning at 5:30 pm in the Speech Theater. Parents of current LAHS sophomores and students are invited to this informative evening.

“Sophomore Parent Night gives students and parents an opportunity to learn what we as counselors are doing in the classroom with the sophomores in the months of March and April, as well as providing a review of this information for parents,” said Cristin Haake and Dawn Watkins, school counselors at LAHS. “We will focus on discussing summer opportunities that will help students enhance their resumes for their post-secondary lives.”

Topics to be covered at Sophomore Parent Night will include volunteer experiences, community service opportunities, and high school courses such as Job XP, MAPS, and Peer Tutoring. School counselors will also talk about Naviance, a web-based platform available to all LAHS students that provides tools for career, college, and success planning.
